The dinosaurs dominated the earth for 200 million years. Now, they are about to make their comback in Europe’s largest arenas. The title of the thundering comeback after 65 million years: “Walking with Dinosaurs.” The giants will come to life before the eyes of the audience. Life-sized and in action, they will pay a visit to Austria in the beginning of 2010.

What exactly is “Walking with Dinosaurs”? Is it a movie? An exhibition?
“Walking with Dinosaurs” is neither a film nor an exhibition. It is a live show in two acts, separated by an interval. The show takes place on the floor of the entire arena – live-sized dinosaurs need a lot of space! Moving, hissing, and of course roaring, the model giants seem to almost come alive. You will be greeted by modern stagecraft and dramatic lighting and sound effects.

The 15 animated life-sized model giants react to all stimuli – sometimes even to the audience in the arena! Never before have dinosaur models been designed as lifelike and rich in detail.   

The paleontologist Huxley, played by an actor, comments on and explains everything that happens on the stage. His text has been developed in close collaboration with both the world’s leading paleontologists, and the BBC team producing the worldwide successful TV series the show is based on. Authenticity is one of the trademark qualities of “Walking with Dinosaurs.” The show is inspired by and faithful to scientific findings and the insights of the successful BBC series.

The show lasts 96 exciting, action-packed minutes, including an interval.
What age group has the show been designed for?
The show is recommended for anyone between three and 93. It has been written by experts as an entertaining experience for the entire family. “Walking with Dinosaurs” features no violence. Nevertheless, the dinosaurs experience earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and comet impacts, and the hissing and roaring of the life-sized models makes for a number of loud sound effects. Children might be taken by surprise for a moment, but the soundtrack of the show and its quiet scenes will immediately make them forget a moment’s fear. Our experience with children has shown that they tend to follow the show with great fascination.
What are the best seats in the arena?
It’s your choice – you can either sit face to face with the giants, or have an impressive view on the entire prehistoric landscape inhabited by the dinosaurs. The farther away you sit, the less “scary” the dinosaurs. The closer you get to the stage, the more “personal” your encounter with the giants.
